You need to speak with an attorney immediately. The letter that you have possession of is in no way a substitute for a court order. In order to establish custody, you need to file a Complaint with the appropriate County Family and Probate Court. With the limited information that you have provided, I do not know whether you are, or were married to your child's mother? Or whether there has ever been a court order issued?
