Life Estate

My in-laws Built an addition on my property as a gift to my husband his son, my father in law hates me and he put in for a high rise in aug 06, we had an eviction served on him in Jan 07 R/O yelling, swearing at me, threatning to trash the addition etc. No paperwork, no verbal aggreement on a life estate. Does he have a legal right to my property???

Life Estate?

Sounds like a very tough situation.

You may even be able to get a restraining order against him.

What ever his intent was, there are some possibilities the in-laws can sue you. They could have several causes of action. If the action is in tort, they usually have 3 years, and in contract, they usually have 6 years.
