Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts
I live in Massachusetts, but previously lived in California. I am married, with 3 children aged 12 to 16, and I also support a handicapped son who is 24 years old.
I have another daughter that is 24 years old now from a previous relationship, that I was ordered by the California courts to pay child support for.
I did not pay the support for several years, and as a result, accumulated a large amount of arrears.
For the last several years, I have been paying the support payments, as well as the IRS has been sending my refunds to California for the arrears.
My problem is that I recently became unemployed from a job that I was barely able to squeak out a living for my family, and can not afford to pay the support order any longer.
Is there a way to get the order canceled, being that the order was for a child who is now 24, married and has a child of her own?

With regards to the child support order of your 24 year old daughter in California, I would suggest that you speak with an attorney that practices family law in California. Massachusetts does not have jurisdiction over the case, and family law is different in all states.
Good Luck,
The jurisdiction is where the children are residents for the applicable time period. In that Jurisdiction you should file for an equivalent of a complaint for modification or for relief from the court.
