Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts
Ok long question but I'll try to make it short .
My baby is 3 months old and the father is bipolar schizophrenic . He is going to court for visitation but I am going to request it supervised by me or a social worker .( will I most likely be able to get him supervised?)
Second part of my question. My exs mother is going to court for visitation also ( grandparent rights ) and I want them denied because of how is acts . She a very mean controlling person . So two questions here ..
If she gets denied can my ex still get visitation at his house with her around ?
If she gets visitation rights can I ask them be supervised also ? And I dont want visits at her home because she will leave my child alone with the father . I don't trust anyone in this family they are all nuts

Unless your ex gets supervised visitation and the court bars your mother-in-law from participating, she can join in.
My suggestion is that you enter into an agreement that only allows for supervised visitation with both your ex and his mother.
The supervisor will make sure the behavior is appropriate. If you do not have an attorney, get one.
I do not handle this kind of case personally, but there are many good custody attorneys in MA
1. If there's evidence of significant mental illness, there's a decent chance that supervised visits will be ordered - especially if the mental illness is untreated.
2. As for visits with father in the presence of grandmother, you should argue against it. Can it happen, yes. Should you put yourself in the best position to prevent it, yes. You should really try to get a consultation and some legal insight into this. You have to make sure you present your evidence effectively to convince a judge to play it safe and keep visits supervised and out of grandmother's presence.
