Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

MA Divorce and Inheritance Not Yet Received

My brother is currently going thru a divorce and has not yet received an inheritance he is due from the passing of our mother. Does his soon to be ex-wife have any rights to his inheritance? Don't Federal Tax Laws supercede any state laws regarding inheritance?

Gernerally, the wife does not have any rights in the estate unless she is named in the will. However, there may be other implications and your brother really should talk to an attorney about this. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
