Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

If a man living on social security at 72 gets a separation or divorce from his wife of 50 years is he required to pay her alimony? She is 70 and also gets social security. If so, how much would he be entitled to pay her?

A court award of alimony depends on the financial situation of the Parties. If each Party has the same income than alimony would most likely not be ordered.

There are other factors that can offset the above however. If you are interested in speaking with an attorney please contact my office to schedule a free consultation 617-523-3200.
