Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts
Am I actually married?
Hello,
12 years ago I was married in St. Thomas. I am now seeking a divorce. I went to pull my marriage certificate and there is no record of it. Does that mean that I am not legally married?

The marriage certificate should be in St. Martin. I would call the town hall there. if you cannot locate them then check with the US consulate and ask them where the certificate would be. You can file for divorce and ask the court to file your marriage certificate late. Chances are that you are legally married but you are not looking for the certificate in the right forum. After you have exhausted all resources to locate the certificate and still cannot find it I will be happy to advise you further.

You are most likely legally married, though of course that must be determined. You should obtain assistance from an attorney, as your rights may be more complicated if in fact there is an issue of marriage validity.
