Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I have been married for nine years; we separated at the eight year mark. We have been in the divorce process for one year. I am 45; she is 45; we have two boys 6 and 4. We both have college degrees and I have an advanced degree. I am paying all bills as she does not work and watches the kids. We have gross assets of 1,250,000, of which about 800k was accumulated during our marriage, so she'll get roughly 400 in assets, half cash half re equity. Add to this CS of about 500 p week and h. ins of 300 per week. on my income of 8k p. month net. She is looking for alimony on top of all of this. I think this is unreasonable given cs and h ins. and my income PLUS all the equity she is retaining. Yes or no?

Generally courts do not like alimony and if the division of assets is reasonable you should not be required to pay alimony. Your attorney should be able to deal with this adequately.
