Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts
Matthew Callis asked about the reasoning for the pre-trial hearings being postphoned 5 times...all of them were from my wife's attorney saying she was going to be out of town or had court with another client of hers.. Her attorney is a very cut-throat type.. but so is mine... My attorney has informed me that he found an account that my wife is hiding with $10,000 in it. but he hasnt said anything about how he is going to use that in court. She stole $20,000 from a savings account that i had 5 years ago the last time we separated....i never found out what happend to the money. She also has admitted to me that she was "setting herself up" because she wanted to make sure she had something to fall back on if we separated again. Im hoping that will help me in court....all i know is that my bill is up to over $10,000 to my attorney already and I get 1/3 of my paycheck.....which isnt even enough to live on for me... I think that her attorney is playing games by postphoning the hearings every month... but how can she get away with that?

It's hard to tell with the facts presented. It sounds as though the postponements have only been procedural. You should talk to your lawyer if you have questions about his fees.
