Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Medical Insurance

I was legally separated in 1998. Agreement calls for me to maintain health insurance for my wife, but does not state for how long. Wife turns 65 in March, 07, and wants me to pay for Medicare supplement plan. Do I have to?

Re: Medical Insurance

It depends on the wording of the agreement and court order. The text would have to be reviewed.

If it is a separation, you could file a motion in court for a hearing on this matter.

I am surprised why there has been no action in this case since 1998. It is possible that the underlying action could have been dismissed for the absence of any action.
