Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Motion or Contempt

My separation agreement stipulated that my ex will sign our son up for a specific after school activity. I know that my ex is planning on not doing this. If I wait till the deadline passes then it will be too late to sign him up. Can I file a contempt before this deadline? Or do I need to file a motion to compel? Or something else?

: Motion or Contempt

If you can get some more information about your ex's intent, it would be helpful;

If you have a reasonable basis from which to infer that your ex intends to violate the agreement, file for a contempt; Once served, your ex may well decide to cure the contempt by enrolling your son.
