moving out of state

we are moving out of state 16 year old daughter refuses to go?

what is the laws about this

Unless she is granted emancipation by a Probate Court, which is unlikely unless she can support herself and can provide a compelling reason; then she goes where you tell her to go.

While I am sure she does not want to leave her friends and school, that is not a reason for emancipation.

The Juvenile Court has one year or less of jurisdiction left, and can order her to move with you. However, this creates a risk of run-away. You should consider how to best handle this, including the possibility of arranging her to stay with someone under a guardianship to which she will agree.
