moving on but stuck

i have been with my boyfriend for 7 years. we meet in florida, moved to pa. than moved here. we have a 4 year old daughter. i want to move back to florida to get on with my life becasue are relationship isnt working and he told me i cant leave the state without his permission. is this true and if so how can i get him to let me take her?

Unless there is a court order or a filing of an action involving custody of the minor child, you can leave the state without his permission. If there is an action for protection from domestic abuse, divorce, seperate support, or custody, you need permission of the father of the child or a judge to remove the child from Massachusetts.
