Can an open adoption be over-turned

DYFS took my daughter when she was 6mths old. I lost custody of her to an open adoption last year. Is there anyway to overturn that verdict so that i can get custody of her back? I have found out that i am suppose to get a redetermination and review of the adoption every 6 mths and my lawyer never told me that, he said once i signed the adoption papers i lost my rights and i can never get her back, and it proves me to be an unfit mother also cause i signed the papers. But i did that cause my lawyer told me i had no fight if i took it to trial that at least i am able to see her twice a yr where as if i took it to trial i would have lost and gotten a closed adoption with nothing. But i was told that i could file a motion or petition to go to court to get her back into my custody?? Any info would be helpful my lawyer is court appointed and does not tell me everything about my case.

I tend to doubt that you have any right to seek a new trial here.
