Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I am ordered to pay back $10,000 in arrears and penalties that I have because the mother of my children collected welfare for the children when she did not have custody of them,can I be ordered to pay back the arrears or id there something I could do about it.Thank You

Obtain a copy of the amounts that DOR is claiming due and owing to her. Substantiate where your children were living while mother was receiving benefits for them. Then you will need to file a Complaint for a Modification and request an accounting. Then if you can prove your claims that mother fraudulently received benefits, you can ask the court to correct the amounts DOR is claiming as due.
