Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Owed Child Support:

What can I do and what are my rights of child support owed to me when my ex-husband moved out of the state? How can I get the support that is owed to me, and how can I get consistent support now? I also would like to raise the child support amount.

Re: Owed Child Support:

(1) He must still pay you. (2) File a complaint for contempt. (3) Under the uniform law, the Department of Revenue will find him and collect it for you.

Re: Owed Child Support:

The best way to collect support from an out of state spouse is through the state agency responsible for collection of support. In Massachusetts it is the Department of Revenue. Request assistance from DOR. You can file a modification to seek an increase in child support but an increase should only be granted if the child support guidelines support an increase.
