Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

i have always paid my support to the mother of my child . just found out my son has been in and out of jail and foster homes since 11 he is now 16 . dss has placed him in my home they didnt know about me or the support i have been paying for him . they said they will give me the dates of him not being in her home over the years . he is living with me and im still paying support as i dont have the money to have her served to bring her to court because i pay her so much in support . is there anything i can do the doesnt involve money to stop the support ? also shouldnt she have to pay me all the money back from the times she didnt have him in her home ? also wont she get in trouble for collecting under false pretenses?
