Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Do Parents have rights?

My ex went to court for an emergency modification of our divorce agreement. The agreement was shared everything, though my two daughters spend most of the time with me, except when he gets that fathering instinct. My youngest daughter doesn't like my rules, homework and telling me where she is at all times. Her father is now looking to take full custody of my youngest daughter 14, leaving the 16 year old to live with me. He filed the modification stating there exists an immediaterisk to the childs safety if the court doesn't remove her. This and all the other lies are untruths. We had a hearing a week later and the courts placed her at a home in my town, and her father is court ordered to have her from Friday night until Monday morning, which in the past six weeks he hasn't done. Nicole and I have a court order for family counseling. The counseler was not ready in six weeks to give a recommendation, so court has been postponed for another 5 weeks. My daughter is running the show, and my husband is helping her. I have fired my attorney, she was incompetent and never returned calls. I am follwing all court orders, but no one else is. Do I really need a lawyer when the court is just waiting to hear from the counsler?

Re: Do Parents have rights?

It is always advisable to be represented by an attorney. Otherwise you'll "have a fool for a client".
