I have permanent custody of my little cousin, his mother want to get him back. What rights does she have to him.

Hello,

If you have permanent guardianship of the your cousin, the mother would have to petition the courts to remove you as guardian. Whether or not she would be successful depends on what the best interests of the child were. Factors such as how the child has been while in your care versus what the current situation of the mother is (mentally, emotionally etc.) along with what the history is would be important.

I suggest you consult with an attorney if the mother does decide to pursue this action.
