Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Privacy

Separation Agreement allowed for the custodial parent right to information regarding health and life insurance coverage. The child is now 19. Does the Privacy Act prohibit this information being shared with the former custodial parent unless specifically requested by the child directly?

Re: Privacy vs. Right to Information

Briefly, the child's age indicates that the source of information, such as a clinic, would need a release signed by the child.

However, the information can still be obtained through the other parent or another source.
