This requires a certain amount of detective work, or at least intelligent discovery. To execute it properly, you may need an attorney's assistance. the key is to prove:

1. That he is in business (website);

2. That the business generates cash flow, preferably by checks or other forms of traceable funds transfer; and

3. thus, his average weekly income.

there are multiople sources of this information. An experienced lawyer can help you determine what to go after, and whether it is worth the cost.

I'm not sure if you're saying that he owns the small business or if he works for the small business.

It's hard to prove that he gets money under the table and sometimes it's not even worth the expense to prove it.

If he works for a small business then you could try to subpoena the business and the boss. If he owns the small business then you need to get records from his bank accounts and business accounts to prove he's making more than he claims. However, if he's under the table, chances are, he's not putting that money into a bank and most likely carrying it around in cash. In that case, it's very difficult to prove.
