Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Question regarding international custody

To save time and money my wife filed petition for divorce in Russia. If she loses her case in the Russian court and I get full custody of our only child, will I be able to take our child (from Massachusetts, where she currently resides with her mother) to Russia to live with me there?

Our child was born three years ago in Massachusetts. Both my wife and I are Permanent US Residents. According to Russian Law, a child is automatically considered citizen of Russia, if at least one of the parents has Russian citizenship (which both of us do).

: Question regarding international custody

There may be a jurisdictional issue as related to the child, and the validity of getting a divorce which lacks jurisdiction over one of its components can be a problem.

Call me with any questions.
