Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

New Question.

I have a teen daughter and she is seventeen years old, and her birthday is Oct.3. Every since she got involved with her boyfriend, she has misbehaving and not going to school. She has 2 days before they drop her off the roster. I am a single mom and I don't know what to do. I was thinking about giving her a emanstapation, but hear it takes up to 6 months to a year and by then she will already be 18. what do I do?

New : I was going to do a chins but they told me that they won't touch the case because she is 17 and with a chins the child has to be 16 and under? what can I do?

Re: New Question.

All that you can do is set the household rules and try to enforce them. Provide her the minimums. If possible, enlist her father's help. And then: tough love, to the extent you can give it. If she needs to move out and live with her boyfriend to find out how hard life is, so be it; just remember to welcome her back if she really learns anything out there.
