Your ex-husband's attorney most likely gave the proposed judgment to you to review. The court only receives one final copy signed by both of you. Since the proposed judgment was prepared by your ex-husband's attorney and presumably you do not have an attorney of your own, it is most certainly in your ex-husband's favor. You really should have any attorney review the proposed judgment to see if it should be edited in any way to protect you and/or make sure you receive what you are entitled to receive in the divorce settlement. Although hiring an attorney to represent you through the entire process can be extremely costly, many attorneys will review a proposed judgment for a flat fee that is much more reasonable. This is something that I do often; however it appears that you live on the North Shore. Feel free to contact me if you wish; however, I am sure there are local attorneys who would also be willing to do this for you. Good Luck!
Assuming you are not currently represented, you should consider retaining an attorney to review the proposed judgment and perhaps to represent you in the proceedings currently before the court to protect your interests. Good Luck!
