Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

hi I was recently married and I'm expecting another child with my husband and we would like to know how we can go about having him adopt my daughter and having her named changed. I had her when I was 17 and was never even in a relationship with her father, he never met her until the court ordered paternity.

If the father is interested in surrendering the child for adoption by you and your new spouse, you would need to prepare and file a petition for co-parent adoption. I would be more than happy to assist you.

You need the consent of the biological father for the adoption. Once done the biological father would no longer have any financial responsibility for the child.
