Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

How do we reduce our alimony payments?

My husband (62 yrs. old in December)is paying $2000 monthly in alimony. Since the time of his divorce decree (June -02)he was forced to find a new job which only pays 50% of the position he had at the time of the divorce. If we return to court (and/or retain an attorney) do we have a reasonable chance of getting the amount reduced? His ex-wife (47 years old) has failed to find any gainful employment since the divorce and appears to be living on the alimony.

Re: How do we reduce our alimony payments?

This is not a simple question. In order to answer it, a lawyer needs to read your divorce decree and understand why he was "forced" to get a new job. Under the right circumstances, he should be able to get a reduction.
