Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I was in a relationship (not married) and living with a girlfriend for 8 years. The house was purchased by my girlfriend a few years prior to my moving in and solely resides in her name. Over that time we each contributed 50% to the monthly payments of the mortgage. I estimate my portion over that time to be about $55,000. Unfortunately the relationship ended abruptly due in part to my actions. My question is, do I have any recourse to get any equity out of the house I helped pay for over that time?

Regrettably, no you do not if you did not sign any agreement with your former girlfriend with regard to your contributions. You have no right to the share of the equity under these circumstances. Your contributions would be regarded as a gift and/or payment for your living expenses.
