how do i remove someones name from a birth certifate?

my ex-husband is on my daughters birthcertificate because we were not legally seperated or divorced at the time she was born. Her bio father has never been in the picture, and my current husband would like to adopt her? what do I do? (she is 11, and I have searched for her bio father for 11 years with no success)

Retain an attorney to file a Petiton for Adoption and the attorney will know to whom notice must be sent.
