Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

restraining orders, dss, and how to get rights to see child

my fiancee's ex about 7 years ago claimed that he abused her and the child and she brought him to court and filed a restraining order and since then he has had no contact. A friend of mine her boyfriend knows the ex and he tells me information every now and then. She lost custody of the child who is now nine and he is living with his maternal grandmother. Problem is that DSS has ordered the mother not be near the child and she lives there as well. We were wondering what can be done so that he can see his child again and if we have to go through the courts or DSS

The father of the child should seek legal counsel in this case, because he has a tough road ahead. He will have to work with both DSS and within the courts.
