Retaining home ownership

Is it possible as part of a divorce settlement to have one party retain ownership of the home and allow the former spouse and children to live there? The former spouse would be a tenant but the ''rent'' would be paid by the owner as part of alimony or support.

Its possible if there are enough assets to offset the former spouse's share of the equity in the home.

A separation agreement can provide for anything except with respect to child support. You should meet child support guidelines. But your spouse is unlikely to accept same if she has an attorney.
