Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Can he get rights back?

My sons father signed over his rights a little less than a year ago. Now he is taking me to court for joint custody. Can he get his rights back even though he signed them over?

Re: Can he get rights back?

It would depend on what you mean by s"signing over his rights." WAS THIS A GUARDIANSHIP OR A TERMINATION OF PARENTAL RIGHTS OR AN ADOPTION. IF IT IS A GUARDIANSHIP HE ABSOLUTELY HAS RIGHTS. IF IT WAS A TERMINATION THEM PROBABLY NOT. IT IS IS AN ADOPTION THEN YOU HAVE TO READ THE ADOPTION PAPERWORK TO SEE WHAT LANGUAGE IT SPECIFIES. YOU SHOULD CONTACT AN ATTORNEY FOR MORE DETAILS.
