safe to buy condo while contemplating divorce?
My husband moved out 1 month ago.
We have not decided yet to divorce but he is getting an apt.
I was looking for a condo/home to buy before he left. I still want to persue this. If we file, it will be uncontested trhu mediation and we've already agreed on how to split. Little to argue over.
Is it safe for me to buy a condo still? Do I need to file a legal separation first to protect myself or can I just have a lawyer draw up something for him to sign?
I need to move/give notice soon, don't want to keep renting. thanks.

It should not be a problem.
What I would suggest is reaching a written agreement with your husband regarding this matter and the others,if possible, before you complete the purchase.
Much depends on the way this divorce process unfolds.

While it snould not pose a problem, your best way forward would to have a written agreement with respect to the condo purchase signed in advance.
Divorces are sometimes tricky so an agreement would be in your best interest.
