Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

separation issue

The situation is as follows. The husband leaves his wife and 6 month old infant and moves out. They are not divorced, just taking time off each other. The wife will pays the rent and all ther bills from now on. Is she entitled to any child support from the husband or any other priviliges due to being left alone with such a young baby?

Yes. She should retain an attorney to bring a separate Support Action. Good Luck!

Absolutely! You are entitled to spousal and/or child support. Bring a Separate Support action in your local family court.

There's a fixed formula for child support based on the guidelines.

Yes, you should file a complaint for separate support if you are not looking for a divorce.

Good lord, YES. You should file an action right away. If you don't want to go for divorce, at LEAST file a Custody/Support action. If you have difficulty finding an attorney to assist, and you reside in my area, please note that I have a sliding scale. Others here are also both competent and reasonable about their fees.
