Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

my son has been getting threats via text message on his cell phone from an x-girlfriend. How can we retrieve the messages and correspondence between her phone and his, from his phone. Is this possible without a court order if we are pulling records from his phone?

There is no SIM card in his phone.

We are Verizon wireless customers.

We need to go back about 3 months if possible.

Thank you for any help you can give us.

Nancy

Your son does not need a court order to get text messages from his own phone. If he deleted the messages, they may or may not be able to be retrieved and Verizon may require a court order, which a court would grant your son to get his own messages.

For the technical issues as to how to do that I do not know. Verizon or your local police may be able to tell you how to do that.

You could I suppose hire a court reporter and have the court reporter copy them word for word and certify them as correct.
