Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Can i sue my father for never being in my life? My mom has been receving child support since 2003 then it stopped a year later then it came back in 2006 and then it stopped. Anyways can i personally sue him for this cause i feel he owes me and my sister for never being in our lives.

As much as it may hurt, you cannot sue your father for being a bad father. You or your mother can sue him for child support or if you are over 18 and going full time to college for child support and tuition help depending on the terms of your mother's separation agreement.

If you want the child support money that is owed you can sue him for it if you are 18 years old. If your sister is over 18 she can sue as well. Otherwise your mother has to file a contempt with the probate court.

I wish there was a way to make your father be a responsible parent, but there really isn't one. You can only try to recover the child support.
