Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I am an un-wed father who lives in Mass with my 12 yr old daughter and her mother. I have not yet filed for custody. I am the home owner and I provide medical ins for my daughter. I work full time and pay 100% of the houshold bills. The mother works part time for little money and does not contribute to bills. My daughter has a closer relationship to my family than the mother's family. In the event that the mother moves out, how can I keep my daughter in my house hold as her main residence? Thank you

it is not automatic unless the mother agrees. If she does not, there will be a custody fight.
