First wife rights

I was devorced in mass,in 1986,I got custody of the kids, my exhusband has come into a large amount of land.am I in anyway intilted to any of the money from the land,being his first wife?

Your question seems to imply that the recent acquisition of land by your former husband was due to an inheritance. Your question also seems to imply that your question is whether or not you have a maritial interest in that inheritance. Based upon these assumptions, my response is that Maine does not provide for a marital interest for you in the inheritance. I do not practice in Mass. and cannot speculate on its laws.

However, is there any reason you are still owed money today related to the divorce? Alimony? child support? arrears? Is there any chance that the land was actually owned by him during the marriage and not disclosed to you or included in the divorce settlement? These issues may also be considered.

Probably not. When the divorce was done almost 8 years ago, all the matters should have been settled, including property distribution.
