Will health insurance continue during this time?

In general, an employer is required to maintain coverage under a group health plan with benefits at the same level as would have been provided if the employee had been continuously employed during the FMLA leave period. But keep in mind that any premiums paid by the employee prior to the leave must continue to be paid during leave (i.e. the deductions for medical/dental that you see in your paycheck).
