Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts

is this right???

i've been in my apartment for 5 years and my landlord lives downstairs she has come in 2 times to do an inspection the first time 6 months ago she had asked me to get my rugs cleaned by a professional i was afraid if i didn't do so she would evict me so i had stanley steamer come in and clean the rugs and i paid for it now she had me sign a paper that she want's me to have them done again the rugs were not new when i moved in and now 5 years and i have to keep paying someone to come in to clean them because if not she might evict me is it my responsibilty to do so or is she supposed to wait for us to move can she complain about little things like a rug....

The landlord has a right to inspections on reasonable notice, unless there is an emergency. During the tenancy, unless it is written, i do not believe the landlord has the right to demand certain routine tasks.
