Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts

borrowed money not paid back

As far back as 1960 aprx $75,000 was loaned to a friend of my uncles. I have documentation, signatures, police records, social security number& names of involved people who are witnesses. The culprit disappeared as of 1978. No action has been taken since then. If i were to find him would i be able to bring him to court. Also at this moment i am my uncles legal power of attorney. I know he would like me to follow up on this. During this man's interrogation at police station, he wrote a confession of fraud with the written implication that if he were to die before he paid up, that his estate & family would do so.No one has seen him since. I assume he's still alive. Tell me how i might find this guy and how to proceed. THanks

You have to bring an action within the time allowed by the law. Longest limitations perior is 20 years for contract under seal. YOu are too late.

you got a statute of limitation problem: actions due which are not taken within a specific time period are usually barred. speak to a lawyer.
