Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts
Deformation of Character
Leaving a grocery store after purchasing three items, I was followed out to my vehicle by an employee, asked for my receipt of my purchase. Who insisted that I had something to set off the alarm in the store. Began to leave and notice that my license plates were being taken down. Went in to speak to a supervisor, very emotional and upset of the humiliation that occurred. Who further insisted that something was in my purse, with no physical evidence of theft. Then when called after the fact for District phone number and his name, the Ass. Mgr. hung up on me. POOR Service, humiliation, deformation of character, harrassment and tarnish of my reputation in my home town.
Am I entitled to a Civil suit against the company and associates involved?

Re: Deformation of Character
I'm sorry to hear of your incident with this store. Unfortunately, however, unless there is more to the story, I don't think you would have very good prospects in a law suit against them.
