My employer and the Medical Benefits Disappearing Act

I was told by my employer that my weekly checks were being used to pay for my medical coverage (bartender so check is small...)And was only given a pay stub about 5 or 6 times a year. worked for 3 years there. I was recently fired and went to get cobra info (i am now ill) and was told that i never had insurance.....as for the checks she said ..not my problem...what can i do?

You should first call the Wage and Hour Administration at theAttorneyGeneral's office to see if they cover this. It helps if you have the check stubs from the employer to show the deduction. I would contact the ERISA division of the Federal Labor Department for additional advice.
