Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts

harassment at school

My daughter is being harassed at school by another student. I have been to the principle and she has spoken with the student but she continues to harass my daughter. Is there anything else I can do to make this stop?

Re: harassment at school

You don't provide enough information. Students have been "harassing" other students since the dawn of time. Normally, I would think that going to the principal would be an effective strategy, but maybe it's not sufficient in this instance. Is there something about the harassment that goes beyond the normal stuff? Is there something that you think that rises to the very serious level of a criminal investigation by the police? If not, I think you will simply have to work with the school system, work with your daughter, and perhaps work with the parent(s) or guardian of the other child.

You can speak to the chairperson of the school committee, the town selectpeople, the town manager, or get an attorney to write a nasty gram to the school, and the child's parents.

If this is criminal harassment, you can seek police intervention.
