Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts

I am being harrassed by my neighbor. My neighbor has told the local police that I have been sending her threatning letters through the mail. The local police showed up at my house on Xmas eve day and told me this. I do not talk to my neighbors at all. My husband and I stay to ourselves and dont mingle with the neighbors. the funny thing is that before this girl moved in across the street we got along well with the owner of the property. Now I am being accused of a crime I didnt commit. and I am feeling threatened myself now by the local police. Is there anything I can do about this?
