Our house is egged.
Are the kids that watched their friend responsible in some way or just the one that threw the eggs?

It is arguable that the other kids involved were co-conspirators with the egg thrower, so they may share some criminal and civil liability. I would carefully evaluate their conduct and balance it against all of your conduct in deciding whether or not to pursue this, as they may countersue you for your behaviors which may have spurned their "perhaps" revengeful, egging of your house.
