Liability of Volunteers

What is the liability of volunteers who carry out their duties during a natural/man-made disaster? Such as those who volunteer and are trained for CERT (Community Emergency Response Team).

Depends on the nature of the alleged negligence, but generally volunteers are protected from liability if in the course of response to emergency or disaster.
