Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts
Our neighbors have a dead tree just over the property line that is a hazard. This tree has been dying for several years now. The limbs and debris from this tree are constantly falling into our pool area which creates quite a mess. We have inquired numerous times as to when this tree will be taken down. This lasttime we asked was this past spring and the tree is still standing. Eventually it will fall on it's own. We are concerned that it will fall onto our property and cause damage. What, if anything, can be done before someone gets hurt or something gets damaged?

Of course, you should talk to your neighbor first. If that doesn't work you can call your town's tree warden. If that doesn't work, consult a lawyer about suing your neighbor,
