Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts
online defamation
This has to do with an online bulletin board. A person who didn't care for my presence on this board keeps accusing me of blackmail. He has used this accusation against me in the past and as recently as Feb 2009. This person is a lawyer in Illnois and was censured one time and I found out this information from a woman who also posted on the bulletin board that investigated this person because she was going to sue him for harrassment. I let it be known he was censured on this online bulletin board and somehow he twists this and keeps on accusing me of blackmail. His censure is public record and appears online at the Illnois Bar site. I haven't engaged or posted online about this person for months yet he keeps going on about me blackmailing him. I have copies of these online webpage accusations as well as pages where he make violent threats. Do I have any recourse?
