Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts

Renovation Contrat

Hello,

I know some people who had massive renovations done on their homes and had large contracts drawn up with their contractors spelling out every eventuallity. I am now redoing a bathroom and am wondering if it would be overkill to do the same or if a standard one page agreement would suffice.

Thank you!

Re: Renovation Contrat

Probably something in-between would be best. To ensure the best results, you should consult with a lawyer and have that person either draft an agreement or review the draft agreement provided by the contractor.

A contract that details the responsibilities and obligations is not overkill. A failure to get a binding contract to protect you is a fatal error in judgment.
