Statute of Limitations for civil litigations in MA?

Could you tell me the statute of limitations for a civil suit in the state of MA? For example if I was in a car accident and wanted to sue someone, what is the longes period of time I could wait?

Also, could you tell me the statute of limitations for a criminal offense in MA?

with some exceptions, it is 3 years for an adult.
